Understanding democracy as a system of access, and seats being surfaces that are granted access, we look into spaces in London designed to limit access.
Benches with armrests are designed to deter people from lying down on them, particularly rough sleepers. Utilizing their defensive anatomies against themselves, our intervention aims to nullify that design by brutally inserting a level of accessibility that was previously absent.
